Yin Yoga is the perfect practice to counter-balance a busy lifestyle or active workout routine. While many forms of Yoga emphasize dynamic movements to strengthen and stretch the muscles, Yin Yoga is a very meditative, slow-paced practice with longer-held postures to release tension deep in the connective tissue and joints. While an active Yoga practice or exercise routine is important to keep our bodies strong, it is just as essential to maintain healthy and flexible joints.
Yin Yoga postures are practiced sitting or laying on the floor and require little to no effort. Using gravity, these quiet postures invite surrender and a deep inward focus. Releasing tension from the body and turning inward, Yin Yoga is an opportunity to nurture our relationship with ourselves and is often a deeply transformative experience.
